Magazine Layout I Like..

I like that the doodles come out onto the other page and it almost looks like it is a continuation of the guys hair. I like that the colours dont clash, even though this specific colour isn't one that I would chose to use.. I would like to use something like it with farther away pictures and the doodles coming out of them.. Maybe with the survey pages...?

Portraits.

Summer! :)

I like that in this picture you can see every little ripple in the water. I also like that you can sort of see the reflection of the bird.

Two.

This is my picture of 2. There are 2 sets of feet and 2 really visible chains. I like that it is focused on the chains and not the feet. ~Enjoy~

the ordinary.

This picture Was taken by the river on a sunny day however somehow the picture turned out dark. I made the picture brighter but I didn't like it as much as the dark. Here is the dark! :)

Light and shadow!

Here are 7 of my "Light and Shadow" picture.
In the top 3 picture I was outside at about 7:30pm and the sun was still shining bright so put my nephews on the car and took a lot of pictures of them. These are the ones that turned out the best.
The photos with the big flashes of light I took at a Youth Conference (YC) in Alberta. I took them during a dance performance. The top one I photoshoped so that it almost looks unreal. Like a painting. :)
I used the lights from the side room and brought them into the small aud. and photographed Michelle in the bottom 2 pictures.

Garbage.

Here is my garbage photo. I finally got it up! I couldn't think of anything to do for garbage so I used the paper shred idea. I actually put 2 stems of flowers in each side of the broken heart. One was red and one was white symbolizing 2 sides of the equation. I fiddled around with the contrast, shadows and brightness etc. and ended up with this! It was much work to clean up but worth the picture.

Red

This is my red picture! As you can see it is a piano. I just fiddled around with the contrast a bit. At first it was just red, black and white but now it has a little bit of blue in it. The red strip in it is just a key softener for the piano.

Extreme close up!

I did a big photo shoot of my new skates and was taking close ups of everything. i wanted to photograph then because it is something that means a lot to me and because i know that they will get wrecked the more i skate on them. I like how you can see the other skates picks in the background and how there is a tiny bit of colour on the frong blade. Just enough to give the picture some spunk. :P

Michelle and I did this photo together. This single photo is actually 53 pictures put together. :)

Weave

I weaved this by hand and took a picture of it. It is a hockey skate and a figure skate. I chose to weave those two things because I love figure skating... and am a figure skater... and I love to watch hockey, especially the NHL, on TV. Another thing I like about this picture is that I snuck in a heart with the laces to show that I like both things.

Photo of the week. Sun.

I was torn between these pictures so I decided to post both. I like the one on the top because it isn't actually focused on the sun. I often try to have a different perspective than most people, I try to make my pictures memorable by making them different from other peoples. I like the colours of both pictures. I like the bottom picture because it is taken from behind the trees so it really shows you the shapes and outline of the trees. I also like it because it looks like the sun set is a fire because the clouds give it a smoky feel.

Photo of the week. Coffee

This is my coffee picture for the photo of the week. I like how it is not actually focused on the coffee pot but mostly your eyes are lead to the flower in the back ground.

Water! Weekly photo. #3

This is my water picture. I went down to the river and brought the nikon camera. I took pictures of skipping rocks and i turned the shutter speed up to about 1000. I like this picture because if you look closely you can see the rock in the air. I like how the splash is really clear as well.

Random.

This is just a random picture of the snow during spring break. I love this picture because you can clearly see the snow but the lamp is still the center of attention. I also like that the lamp is off to the side and coming out of the corner. :)

Dutch Tilt!!!

This is my example of the dutch tilt. I like this picture because it persuades the viewer to believe that everything is falling. I also like that thre is a lot of lines in this picture. This was the photo of the week picture. :)

Photoshop---#2

I had a piture of a street sign called "rainbow ave" so I decided that it would be cool to put a rainbow right by it so I found a picture of a rainbow and zoomed in on it. I erased the background of the rainbow picture and put it into the sign picture to produce this! And it only took a matter of minutes!

Photoshop---#1

The photo to the right was the original photo I took... It didn't look so great so I played around with the contrast and mostly fixed the red contrast. It made it look like it was night time and a red light was shining on the piece of grass. All this produced the picture below and it looks much better now!

I also trimmed the original photo to get rid of all the blurr on the left side. I also like how the shaddow is really visible and clear. :)

Picture of the week--- #1

This is the jump picture before I played around with the contrast! All Natural! :)

Picture of the week--- #1

This is the picture of the week assignment. This weeks assignment was "Jump". I like this picture because it looks like there is a rainbow in the background but there wasn't. The way the sun was shining made it look like there was. All I did to change it was fiddle around with the contrast. Enjoy! :)

Texture

Random... In the spirit of the Olympics! :) Way to go Canada!
----Texture project.

Texture

This is another random texture photo. I took it above a black background. On my hand is melted crayon. I like that you can see every crease in my hand and in the crayon wax.

Texture

I like this picture because there are 3 different types of textures on it and it is almost real enough to reach out and touch it. This was one of my random pictures from the textures assignment. It is a picture of part of the wall, baseboards and some of the ceiling.

Texture

I like this picture because it looks like I was breaking something on ice or that I have leaves on the ice but really it was just holes in a piece of ice that I held up.

Texture

This is a texture picture. It is a picture of a piece of ice flipped. I found an ice covered puddle and took a piece of ice off of it and on the bottom there was a pattern like a giant snowflake. I just zoomed in on it a little. I used a canon rebel to take this picture.

Elements of Composition----Shape

This is my shape example for the elements of composition project. I was up in the bird tower in riverside park and it was a warmer day so there was a break in the river. I like this picture because it is just blue and white. I also like it because the strait break in the river really helps with showing how curvy the S curve break is.

Elements of composition-----Pattern

This is my example of a pattern/repetition. The day I took this photo was cold so the trees in the background were a little frosty. It was early in the morning and all the busses had just come back. There was someone in the garage washing the busses so the gate was open. We went in and thought of pictures we cound take in the bus garage and this is what we ended with. I like this picture because it also has shape along with the repetition as you can see... a sideways triangle.

Elements of Composition-----Line

This is my example of line for the elements of composition project. It was in the early morning when I took this picture and I used the power lines to represent my line. The thing I like the most out of this picture is that I made it so that the ground was relatively level and everything else was slightly on a diagonal. I also like that there is not many different colors, only blue.

Elements of Composition-----Perspective

This was my example of perspective for the Elements of composition project. I was down on the ground beside a hill of snow and a friend of mine jumped off the other side of the snow pile. I took the picture at the highest point of her jump and I also took the picture according to the rule of thirds. I like this picture because you cant see much of anything but the person and the sky.

Elements of Composition-------Light

This is my example of light for the elements of composition project. As you might be able to tell, there was a hole at the top of the tunnel I took the picture through giving a little bit of light to the rock and the rest of the focus point. I like this picture because it makes the rock at the back look fairly big even though the rock is only about the size of a thumb nail. :)

Elements of Composition-----Texture

This is my texture example. I like it because you can clearly see the frosty points. It was quite a cold day when I took this photo and I found it right next to a mountain of snow right by a school. I tried to blurr out the background using manual focus. I used a Didgital SLR Nikon for this picture and really enjoyed using that camera.

Shapes

This was the shape scavenger hunt. A friend and I went to an elementary school and found a hole in an old piece of the playground. It was quite bright outside so she stood slightly back from the hole and I stood on the other side to snap the shot. I took the picture just far enough away to see that there was a circle I was taking the picture through. This was my example of the circle shape. Enjoy.

Rule of Thirds

The "Rule of Thirds" project in Potography 11 was where we had specific focus points on the photos we took. The focus points were where the lines would cross if you would draw a tic tac toe board on you picture. This was my example of the "Rule of Thirds". I had someone run and when she ran into the first focus point (the top left corner) I snapped the picture.
Hope you enjoy it.
